A modest ceremony was organized in Teaching Hospital Ratnapura to celebrate the Beginning of New Year 2019. The event started with the National Anthem followed by two minute silence to celebrate national heroes. Then, the Director of the Hospital Dr. Sampath Ranaweera, in his speech explained the targets achieved in 2018 and the future targets in 2019.
Then he read the National Oath for the government officers for the upcoming year 2019.
The event was followed by a tea table to celebrate the new year.
